Always a pleasure driving around in the lush Adelaide Hills. Even when Adelaide is melting in 45 degrees heat, Crafers can be a comfortable temperature.
With the South Eastern Freeway zooming up and through the hills its not the drama it used to be getting services to this area. Many of our fresh flowers are grown in the region. The cooler climate allows for a great variety of flowers and foliage to be produced that aren't suitable on the Adelaide Plains mediterranean climate.
This cooler climate was the reason for Noal Lothian then Director of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens to make the Mt Lofty Botanic Garden happen. Many thousands of people per year delight in the autumn colours, the rhodedendron and camelia collections and the themed gullies.
